Shirley F. Birch, MSN, CPNP, ARNP

Shirley is originally from California. She attended UCLA and UC Berkeley to pursue a degree in Integrative Biology and Public Health. Throughout her undergraduate years, Shirley’s interest in global health led her to participate and organize medical trips to Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua and Thailand. After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010, Shirley worked as a Reproductive Health Educator at Berkeley High School through AmeriCorps, working alongside PNPs providing reproductive health care to adolescents. Shirley attended Yale School of Nurse to complete her master in science in nursing. While in school, she worked as a RN at the Pratt Health Center in Choate Rosemary Hall boarding school. Additionally, she worked as an RN at Camp Kesem, a free summer camp for children whose parents or family members are diagnosed with cancer. She worked as a teaching assistant for the pharmacology class for the pediatric nursing students. During nursing school, she volunteered as a senior clinical team member and a pharmacy director at Haven Free Clinic, a student run clinic working with underserved communities in the greater New Haven area. Shirley completed her rotations at Yale New Haven Hospital, school based health centers and at various pediatric private offices, including specialty rotations in Endocrinology and Cardiology.

She is very excited to become a team member at Healthy Future Pediatrics. In her free time, Shirley enjoys hiking, salsa dancing, yoga and exploring the outdoors.
