Vision Screening

Vision screening starts at the first check up. Vision problems that are discovered at early stages can be corrected while those that are missed can result in permanent loss of vision. We work closely with eye care professionals in our community to make sure your child’s vision is protected.

Children with poor vision may squint, suffer from headaches, sit too close to the TV, and have trouble reading.

Newborn, infant, and toddler vision can be difficult to assess since it is hard for babies and small children to identify a vision problem on their own. At appointments we do routine checks for the overall health of your baby’s eyes and our routine developmental screenings will help check for any irregularities in vision.

For older children not in the care of an optometrist or ophthalmologist, we can do a more traditional vision screening. These tests are often given annually at your child’s school, as well.
